Here as promised a little review of another beautiful quilting book - Japanese Colour Theory by Yoko Saito. If you like Japanese taupe colour schemes this book is for you! Giving detailed advice on how to develop a scheme and put fabrics together is the main purpose of the book, however that is only part of its appeal. There is a range of blocks in Yoko's typical style, using, as always quite small pieces (compared to European/North American blocks at least), as well as plenty of great projects (mainly bags) with detailed and clear instruction.
There is something for everyone, whether you are a beginner with Japanese quilting or experienced. My favourite aspect of this book is that it gives the reader both the inspiration and the confidence to start experimenting with Japanese taupes and to develop your own interpretations. Go and get yourself a copy!
